The Secret Quilters is a podcast for the new generation of quilters—those who love the craft but aren’t afraid to question it.
We created this podcast because we kept asking the same question: Why isn’t anyone talking about this?
Quilting is creative, inspiring, and deeply rooted in tradition—but it can also be overwhelming, expensive, and, at times, a little stuck in the past. We believe there’s room for a more honest conversation.
Each week, we explore quilt shops, shop hops, fabrics, and tools—sharing real experiences, thoughtful critiques, and the kind of insights you usually only hear behind closed doors.
About the Hosts
Mindy
I experience quilting from a hands-on, creative perspective. I’m always exploring—trying new tools, experimenting with fabrics, and figuring out what actually works when you sit down to make something.
For me, quilting is about the process just as much as the outcome. I care about how something feels to use, how intuitive it is, and whether it sparks creativity or slows you down. I’m less interested in perfection and more interested in whether something helps you enjoy the craft.
My style is flexible and evolving. I’m drawn to color, texture, and anything that feels fresh or a little unexpected. I like mixing things that aren’t supposed to go together—and seeing what happens.
On the podcast, I bring the real-life perspective. I test things, I question whether they hold up, and I focus on what’s actually useful, inspiring, and worth
Brennen
I approach quilting with a critical eye and a focus on quality. I pay attention to the details that often get overlooked—fabric composition, construction, pricing, and whether something truly lives up to its reputation.
I’m especially interested in trends—what’s emerging, what’s overdone, and what actually has staying power. I don’t believe in buying into hype without asking questions, and I’m always thinking about value: is this worth your time, your money, and your effort?
My quilting style leans clean and intentional. I’m drawn to balanced color palettes, thoughtful design, and tools that are efficient and well-made. If something can be improved, I want to understand how—and why.
On the podcast, I bring a more analytical perspective. I’m here to break things down, challenge assumptions, and help you make informed decisions about what you bring into your creative space.
